It covers how buildings and upgrades work, what golden candies and the Sugar Frenzy do, how offline production is credited, and how the Candy Crystal meltdown resets your run for a permanent bonus.

Getting started
What Candy Clicker is, whether it is free, and how a session works in your browser.
What is Candy Clicker?
Candy Clicker is a single-player incremental — or "idle" — clicker game. You click a large candy to earn candy, then spend that candy on buildings that produce more candy automatically every second. Over time your income compounds from a few candies per click into billions per second, and the game becomes about choosing the best upgrades rather than clicking.
Is Candy Clicker free to play online?
Yes. candyclicker.app is completely free and runs entirely in your browser. There is nothing to buy, download, or install, and there are no interruptive video ads, energy timers, or paywalls. Open the page and the candy is ready to click.
Do I need an account or an app?
No. The game is the website — a 100% browser-based build with no app-store download and no sign-up. Your progress is saved locally in your browser, so there is no login to manage.
What are the controls?
Click or tap the big candy to earn candy. Click a shop row to buy a building and an upgrade card to buy an upgrade. On the keyboard, Space clicks the candy and M toggles sound. Use the ×1 / ×10 / ×100 / Max toggle in the Shop to buy buildings in bulk.
Game mechanics
Buildings, upgrades, golden candies, the Sugar Frenzy, offline production, and Candy Crystals.
How do buildings and prices work?
Each building produces a fixed amount of candy per second for every copy you own. Buying a copy raises the price of the next one by 15%, so early buildings get expensive and later tiers — from the Gumball Machine up to the Sugar Portal — take over your income as you can afford them.
What do the golden candy and Sugar Frenzy do?
A golden candy drifts across the screen roughly every two to three minutes and stays for about thirteen seconds. Clicking it pays a lump sum scaled to your current income. Just over half the time it also triggers a Sugar Frenzy, which multiplies all production and click value by seven for eighteen seconds.
Does Candy Clicker keep earning while I am away?
Yes. When the tab is closed your buildings keep producing at 40% of their normal rate for up to eight hours. The candy is added when you next open the game and a short message tells you how much you earned offline. Keeping the tab open in the background earns at the full 100% rate.
What are Candy Crystals and what does meltdown do?
Candy Crystals are the prestige currency. When your all-time candy is high enough, the Meltdown button in Stats unlocks. Melting down resets your candy, buildings, and upgrades but grants Candy Crystals based on your all-time total. Each crystal is a permanent +2% to production and click value, so every run after a meltdown is faster.
Do achievements affect gameplay?
Yes, a little. Achievements unlock automatically when you hit a milestone, and each one adds a permanent +1% to your global production. They are mostly for completion, but collecting many of them adds up.
How is the golden candy payout calculated?
The reward is a share of your current candy bank plus a large multiple of your income (whichever of candy-per-second or click value is higher), with a small minimum so an early click is still worthwhile. In practice it is worth far more once your factory is producing millions per second.
Can I lose progress or fail?
No. There is no way to lose in Candy Clicker — the number only goes up within a run. The one reset is the meltdown, which you choose to do, and it makes you permanently stronger.
Why did an upgrade disappear from the shop?
Once bought, an upgrade is permanent and leaves the list. New upgrades appear when you meet their unlock condition — a certain number of a building, a lifetime candy total, or a number of clicks — so the Upgrades tab fills back up as you play.
Strategy and progress
What to buy first, when to meltdown, and how fast the game grows.
What should I buy first?
Click the candy until you can afford a Candy Wrapper, then keep buying Wrappers and, soon after, Gumball Machines. As a rule, buy whichever building adds the most candy per second per candy spent, and always buy an upgrade when you can afford one — upgrades are usually the better deal.
When should I do my first meltdown?
Do it when the number of Candy Crystals you would gain has clearly slowed down rather than stopped — often somewhere between a few million and a few tens of millions of all-time candy. Melting down too early trades real progress for a tiny bonus; waiting until growth is completely flat wastes time.
How long does Candy Clicker take?
A first run to a satisfying candy-per-second takes maybe twenty to forty minutes of active play. Because it is an idle game there is no ending — you can meltdown for crystals and go again, or leave it running in a tab and check back on a much larger number later.
Is clicking still worth it late game?
Mostly not, on its own. Late game your buildings dwarf manual clicks. The exception is during a Sugar Frenzy, when click value is multiplied by seven along with everything else — a burst of clicking then is genuinely worth it.
Do Candy Crystals carry through every future run?
Yes. Crystals, the meltdown count, unlocked achievements, and your all-time candy total are never reset. Only the current run — candy, buildings, and upgrades — is wiped when you melt down.
Devices, saving, and accounts
Mobile play, supported browsers, where the save lives, and how to reset it.
Does the game save my progress?
Your candy, buildings, upgrades, achievements, Candy Crystals, and stats are saved to local browser storage every few seconds and whenever you leave the tab. Nothing is sent to a server and there is no account. Because the save lives on the device, a different phone, a new browser profile, or cleared site data starts fresh.
Can I play Candy Clicker on mobile?
Yes. The layout is built for touch: the candy and your candy-per-second stay on screen while the shop scrolls beneath, so you can play one-handed in portrait. There is nothing to drag and every tap target is large.
Can I play offline?
The page needs a connection to load the first time. After that the game keeps running while the tab is open even without a network, and closed-tab time is credited as offline production (40% rate, up to eight hours) on your next visit.
How do I reset my progress?
Open the Stats tab and use Reset, then confirm with the second tap. That clears your candy, buildings, upgrades, achievements, Candy Crystals, and stats on this browser and starts a brand-new game. It cannot be undone.
Which browsers are supported?
Any current browser with JavaScript: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari on desktop, plus their mobile versions. If the candy does not respond, update the browser, allow scripts for this site, and reload.
